West Craigs is a newer part of west Edinburgh with modern road layouts: traffic-calmed streets, roundabouts and well-marked junctions that mirror what you'll meet on a driving test. That makes it a good place for learners who want clear, predictable roads while they build confidence.
Maybury Road and the Maybury junction are close by for faster traffic, and the A8 and the Gogar roundabout open up dual-carriageway and tram-corridor driving without a long transfer. Turnhouse Road adds the edge-of-city feel with quieter, faster stretches.
West Craigs is convenient for Currie via the bypass, and instructors can build mock-test routes right from your door.
