Craigmount is a hillside residential neighbourhood in west Edinburgh, and its slopes are a quiet advantage for learners: Craigmount Brae and nearby streets give plenty of realistic hill starts, gradient control and downhill braking practice that many flat-area learners lack.
The roads around Craigs Road and Corstorphine are busier, so you can combine gentle residential driving with proper junction, roundabout and bus-lane practice. School-time traffic near Craigmount High School adds a real-world hazard-awareness element.
Craigmount learners test at Currie, which is a short run via the bypass or Lanark Road.
