East Kilbride is a 1940s new town built around a network of dual carriageways and roundabouts, which makes it excellent for lane discipline and roundabout practice. It also has its own driving test centre, so lessons run on real test roads.
The town centre and The Plaza bring busy junctions and bus traffic, while estates such as Calderwood and Westwood are quiet for first lessons. Rural roads on the town's edge add bends and speed-limit changes.
The East Kilbride test centre is local, so lessons overlap heavily with real test routes.
